Deal still unlikely on Monday’s summit – TDS

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - Strategists at TD Securities believe a EU-Greece deal at Monday’s EU Summit remains an unlikely scenario.

Key Quotes

“Monday sees emergency summits on Greece for both the Eurogroup in the afternoon and then EU Leaders in the evening”.

“We’re doubtful that FinMins will be able to come to a real compromise in the afternoon, which means that leaders will be left discussing whether they will allow Greece to default and remain in the Eurozone, and whether this now means that ELA funding should be capped”.

Tsipras is likely to be told at this meeting that with no agreement, the ELA will not be extended on Tuesday”.
